English 12 is a course designed to further your knowledge of and experience with reading, writing, speaking, and listening in today's world.  The genres of World and Cultural Literature will be the two specific themes of the class, in which you will gain experience in recognizing and interpreting various literary devices such as symbolism, context, nationalism, perspective, character development, and so on.  Formal writing projects include personal narratives, persuasive papers, compare/contrast papers, biographies, a generation report, research-based writing, and the culminating project of the course - the personal compendium. 

This course is worth two credits and lasts one full year (two semesters).
